Thursday 13th June, 2024 London

An easy morning again today, as we will be home late tonight.

We had seen a pub in Kensington which we wanted to visit, called the Churchill Arms, so we decided to catch the bus ! the traffic was horrible, so we decided to get off at Victoria Station and catch a taxi from there.
The pub is very pretty from the outside, with lots of beautiful hanging baskets full of petunias, but was quite crowded, so a couple of drinks (of course)

and then a taxi to Royal Albert Hall, to watch the English National Ballet perform Swan Lake, in the round.

Wednesday 12th June, 2024.

Today was pretty much a rest day.  A trip back to Camden Town Markets for lunch, and to buy some portable chairs to use at the Trooping of the Colour on Saturday. A drink or 2 at the Coyote Ugly bar, listening to music and watching the barmaids dance on the bar

Dinner at the Italian Restaurant just across the road.

Tuesday 11th June 2024 - Bletchley

We caught the train from London Euston to Bletchley Park, which took about 45 mins, and then a few minutes walk to the Park.

Wow, what a fascinating insight into what was going on behind the scenes in the UK during World War 11.  These people were basically hand picked and sworn to secrecy about what they were doing.  Not even their partners, or families knew what they were doing. They were code breaking messages that were being sent by the Germans on their Enigma Code Machine, which pretty much changed the course of the war.

Such an amazing place, and well worth the visit

London Monday 10th June 2024

WHOOPS !!! forgot to finish the 2024 blog

We stayed around the unit this morning and then headed into the city for the afternoon.  A visit to the National Gallery and then the Portrait Gallery, before walking across to St Martin in the Field Church to the cafe there for afternoon tea

We made our way to China Town for dinner in the sunshine and whilst at the restaurant the skies opened up and it poured rain for about 10 minutes, then it cleared just before we needed to leave.

We caught a taxi to the Aldwych Theatre to see the musical Tina.  Wow !!! what a show. Absolutely loved every minute, and the end was just like a 20 minute concert
