Today was a bit of a frustrating day.....we started off the day searching for accommodation for our return to London, after sometime we booked an apartment near Paddington. We then decided to check out how to get from Limehouse, where we have been staying to Heathrow, to collect our car tomorrow. Not as easy as we thought it would be, as the have closed at least 3 of the tube lines for the weekend. Everytime we thought we had it sorted, up popped another problem. Finally we decided to head straight into town to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery, where we spent a couple of hours. We saw some of Mon et, Van Gogh and Turner's works, to name but a few,we then got the bus to the Victoria and Albert Museum,(which took longer than we thought it would) where the Quilt Exhibition, 1700-2010 is being shown. After I wandered around the exhibition for an hour or so, while John found something else to amuse him, we headed back towards Harrods. We saw the Dodi and Dianna Memorial (a bit tacky, I think). We were both feeling quite tired, so decided to head for home, only to have more trouble with the tube line closures. It was very crowded, as even Londoners were a bit confused with the changes. We stopped at the pub for a beer/scotch, and have now had fish & chips from the local take away for dinner. We have decided that it was easier and cheaper to get around in Rome and Paris than London, and we have missed the language barrier.......We hope you have a Happy Easter....we are sure it will be better that the actor who was playing Jesus in the Passion Play at Trafalgar Square, in the 10 degree, pouring rain, with a wind chill factor of very, very cold.
