We left our apartment in London this morning and headed for Heathrow to collect our car. We could not believe how big the airport is......we thought that we possibly should hire a GPS to get out of it!!We were pleasantly surprised when we registered, as they had upgraded our car from a Ford Focus to a Brand new (only 1 mile on the clock), diesel, VW Passat. John thinks he would like to bring it home.haha. We managed to leave the airport, without any trouble, and headed for Oxford. It all seemed pretty stress free, until in the town where the roads are very narrow a bus seemed to be heading straight for us. ??? Eventually we headed for Banbury - where we are staying for the night. I'm sure you all know the Nursery Rhyme, Ride a cock horse to Banbury Cross etc.....It's a quaint town, there was a farmers market happening, where John bought his new hat!!!great little pubs, one of which we went in to have a beer. While we were there, there was live music, which turned out to be the bass player and lead guitarist from the original Shadows band. I'm sure most of you would recognise the music if you heard it. We have now checked into our motel room, and guess who's having a little sleep - complete with snoring, before we head off for dinner.

  4. It worked! I won't try to remember what I tried to send you a couple of days ago- it was mainly about your poor foot, Lyn but the fact that you haven't mentioned it, I hope, means that it's giving you less jip! Your trip sounds wonderful and I'm reading your messages over the phone to the olds at Ingleburn. Clever Mel for setting it up. XXX jenny r
