It's a cold and rainy day today, so we decided to take a Viking Boat Ride on the Shannon River And into the Loch. Great scenery, although it was still quite cool on the boat (bloody freezing on the outside deck), however the boat comes equipped with blankets !! We also visited the church, St Peter and Paul's. A gorgeous church - very different to ones previously visited , as it was only built in the 1930's.on the advise of the deck hand on the Viking boat, we went Clonmacnoise, a 4th century Monastry, one of the oldest in Europe. It was absolutely amazing.
We then drive through Tullamore and on to Dublin, where we got really lost in the centre of the city, (for at least an hour) looking for our accommodation at the Castle Hotel. To make it worse it was around 5pm- so Irish peak hour !!after finally asking directions from a taxi driver, we finally arrived, to find a hotel made from 2 Georgian buildings, full of old world charm, and close to the city centre.
