After a good night, we docked on Copenhagen at 8am. During a discussion with Donna, yesterday, she said she had been to Copenhagen before and said the Tivoli Gardens was a great place to see. So, after breakfast, the 4 of us, caught a taxi into Copenhagen to Tivoli Gardens. Being Sunday, we didn't realise that the gardens didn't open till 10am - so we had time for coffee (the best we had had for a while) and a wander around. It was a beautiful day, quite warm, around 26 degrees. Tivoli Gardens, has one of the oldest Amusement Parks within it.The gardens themselves were just amazing.
There was even a lawn mower that looked like a rabbit :)
There were roller coaster rides, merry go rounds, dodgem cars, pirate ship rides and many more as well as sideshow alley.
There were beautiful fountains, and lakes and many places to stop and eat.
There were amphitheatres for concerts and today there was a Gospel Convention. We watched for a while. The singing was fantastic, I almost got a photo of John clapping along !!
After quite a few hours at Tivoli Gardens, we decided to head back to the ship.
Late in the afternoon I received a message from Shelly, asking that I call. It was about midnight in Australia, and Mel and Shelly had just found out that Heidi Pryor, a beautiful girl, and friend from our time living in Heather Glen Road (Blue Mountains) had been killed in New Zealand. We were both shocked and deeply saddened to hear of this tragedy.
The Ship sailed at 6pm, tomorrow is a full day at sea, and we will arrive in Stockholm on 10th May.
The scenery as we left Copenhagen was incredible
At dinner tonight, there were another 2 Australian couples at our table, Debbie and Wolfgang, Mark and Robyn, and a South African Couple Richardt and Alida. We had a lovely dinner and went to the show in the Theatre and then met up with some of the others for drinks before bed.
We had a lovely day, but it ended up being a very emotional one
