Paris 24th April 2016 Giverny Day trip

We decided to do a day trip to Giverny to visit Claude Monet's House and Gardens.  Our day started with a taxi ride to Gare Saint Lazare train station for the 45 minute trip to Vernon, then a short bus ride to Giverny.
I had purchased entry tickets to the house and garden on the internet last night (to skip the line), and for the first time had to use the electronic ticket option, as we were not able to print!! On our arrival to Giverny we could not see an advance ticket entry - so we ended up waiting in line - luckily not for too long.  The gardens were amazing, every colour of tulip you can imagine, mingled with blue bells, violets and many other flowers.  All very pretty, but not being a gardener, I have no idea what they were!! The house itself is quite large, including Monet's studio, a dining room, and a large (very blue) kitchen.

As we left the house it started to rain, we didn't have an umbrella, as the morning had been fine when we left Paris, but we decided to continue walking through the garden to the famous water lily pond.  Unfortunately, it is the wrong time of year for water lilies, but definitely a beautiful spot. After spending some time in the gift shop, it was time for a late lunch, before making the trip back to Paris.
