Today was an early morning, as we had to be out of the cabin by 7-7.30. Our last cup of tea from our Butler Poutra. Our luggage was packed and had to be outside the cabin door by midnight last night, so it was easy.
We met Jim & Maggie in the Top Sail Lounge for final goodbyes 😢😘. They left the ship before us, so we enjoyed our last coffee, before being escorted off the ship at approximately 9.30am. We had to go through customs (and actually got a stamp in our passports ! quite unusual these days) before waiting for our organised transfer to Rome Airport. This was the only thing, we could complain about, as we waited for over an hour, as only 1 bus turned up instead of 2!!! The bus driver was obviously not impressed as he wasted no time - would help no one, and would not stop at all the terninals at the airport.
Our flight with ITA Airlines was at 3.15pm and left 20mins late. It was a 2 hour flight and arrived on time into Brussels Airport, which is bigger than we thought!
After a 40 min taxi ride we arrived at our apartment, Avenue de Parc 48, Saint Gilles, Brussels 1060 Belgium, to be met by our host Daan, who was very helpful and a great source of information about Brussels. Unfortunately, we missed the fact when we booked that it was on 1st floor !!!, but the apartment is lovely and well equiped. After a long and exhausting day, we fell into bed 💤
