Sunday 5th May - Lisbon

We arrived in Lisbon at midday today, to a cloudy day, so photos on the way in aren't great. We passed Bugio Isle, which is known by mariners as the entry to Lisbon, then passed under the 25th April Bridge with a clearance of only 11meters, and then passed Statue of Christ the King.

We again decided to have lunch before leaving the ship.   Eventually left the ship at around 2pm and decided to do the hop on hop of bus.  We had been to Lisbon previously and done the bus which we thoroughly enjoyed. This time there were 2 routes, which were supposed to join in the centre of the city, to allow people to change to the different route.  However, the driver whistled straight past this stop, and many others, so we ended up on the bus for nearly 2 hours with only stops at the very edge of the city.  There were quite a few unhappy people on the bus, many from the cruise. The commentary was terrible and the driver was very impatient. This is the worst Hop on Hop off Bus we have ever done, which others agreed to.

Eventually, we got to the end of that route and joined the other route, as it was the one that would take us back to the ship. This was a much better experience at the end of the day.

We passed Jim and Maggie on our way back to the ship, as they were heading out into Lisbon for dinner.  During dinner on the ship, we received a message from them, telling us not to have dessert, as they were bringing pastries back for us all 😀, which we all enjoyed whilst having an after dinner drink in the Top Sail Lounge.

The ship was docked in Lisbon overnight.
