Caernarfon Castle - Exeter

Caernarfon Castle is the daddy of all castles - it is absolutely huge. It was built by Edward 1, known as Edward Longshanks, in 1283. Edward of Caernarfon was born in the castle in 1284, and was made the original Prince of Wales in 1301 and became King Edward II in 1308. Prince Charles the present Prince of Wales was invested at Caernarfon Castle. Because of its size and position Caernarfon Castle only had to defend itself on one occasion.
After leaving the castle we drove though some amazing countryside ,through Snowdonia and though Herefordshire, and onto Exeter in South West England.
