Hamburg 6th May 2016

Reception at the hotel mention that there was a celebration for the Harbours birthday  - 827 years old

and that there would be lots happening at the waterfront.  We caught the Hop on Hop off bus. Hamburg has some really architecture.

After touring around the town we ended up at the waterfront

There was so much happening, beer stall at a minimum every 30 meters, as Germans love their beer :)
We wandered for a while and decided that Harbour cruise would be nice.

The boat was set up like an old Paddle Steamer, would be a great place for a party !! It was 3 levels, and for the harbour cruise everybody was on the top deck.  It could hold up to 500 people.

There lots of Tall Ships in the harbour and one or two Warships including HMS Duncan

There was a display of tugs putting out a fire on board a barge

After a great afternoon around the Port we found a nice pub for dinner - One of the best Hamburger's I have had (Hamburgers don't originate in Hamburg !!). From here we walked to the Miniature Wonderland !! Oh my goodness !!! We spend 2 hours here looking a an amazing display of trains, boats, aeroplanes and airports, cities - way too much to try to explain !!

Unfortunately, the photos don't do justice to the Minature Wonderland - so we bought a video!!!
