Stockholm Tuesday 10th May 2016

Today we had a booked tour from the ship.  It was the City Tour, which started out OK, until we encountered Police road blocks, due to the fact that the Chilean President was in town.  Our tour guide was very good, she got off the bus and spoke to the police about how long the delay would be.  She was advised it would only be for 10mins. As well as the Chilean President there were 7 cruise ships in town, and as well the Eurovision Song Contest was being held.  A very busy place !!!!

We drove past many lovely buildings, including churches and art galleries, the ABBA Museum, The Royal Park and many beautiful gardens.  Sweden is made up of 27,000 islands and is a very long country, and Stockholm is quite a lovely city.

at least 20mins waiting at the road block, the bus driver did a U turn and eventually we made it to the waterfront for a photo and coffee stop :)
After a further tour of the city we arrived back at the ship, in time for a spa and then drinks before dinner.
We enjoyed our day in Stockholm, even with the traffic !!!

The scenery leaving Stockholm was absolutely spectacular.  We sailed for about 3 hours before reaching open water, passing through some very narrow channels.
