We walked from the Hotel to the Central Railway to catch the hop on hop off bus, having bought the tickets at the hotel. It was the most disorganised hop on hop off bus we have been on.  We stayed on the bus for about 9 stops around the city.  The city is very attractive and very busy with lots of cyclists -ratio of 3 to 1 in favour of the bikes !!! and if you are not careful you will get run over by one !!

We got off the bus at the Rijksmuseum,
which is home to Rembrandt's famous painting "The Night Watch" and Vermeer's the "Mild Maid" and the self portrait of Rembrandt

There was an "On the CatWalk" Exhibition, which was ladies and children's fashion on a revolving catwalk - It was amazing.

Some of the gowns were embroidered and others almost look like they could have been quilts !!

After leaving the museum we caught a canal boat, and toured Amsterdam's canal's.  I hadn't realised that there were so many canals in Amsterdam

The above green building is the Science and Technology building. As we pulled into one of the many canal boat stops, the small world syndrome happened, and we met the lady who we had just bought our spa from !! We knew we would all be in Europe around the same time, and had joked "see you over there" never expecting that we would !!!

We wandered around looking for something to eat for dinner, and ended up in and Argentinian Grill. The food was good, but the most remarkable thing was the waiter.  Two men came into the restaurant, and it was obvious from their speech that they were Russian.  The waiter spoke to them in fluent Russian, much to their surprise.  Speaking with him later, he told us he was Egyptian and spoke 6 languages fluently and was working on the 7th - how amazing!!!
