We left the Jephson Hotel and before returning the hire car, went to the supermarket for some last minute shopping before catching a taxi to the marina. We had done the majority of the shopping online to be delivered to the marina at about 1pm, which was a fantastic idea.
After the mandatory instruction on the narrow boat, we were left to our own devices and sailed from the marina towards Braunston, which is about 2 1/2 hrs on the canal.
We had previously been to Braunston, but from a different direction, so kept on going passed some rather unsavoury characters, who were moored on the bend, and out the other side for another couple of hours before finding a nice quiet spot to spend the night.
