When we were looking at the mao of the area, we saw a sign for the Rollright Stones, which were only a couple of kilometres from where we are staying.
So this morning we decided to go check it out. We had driven past a few times and thought it was a walking track, as there were alway a few cars parked on the side of the road. There are 3 different parts to the site, and they span over 2000 years of the Neolithic and Bronze ages.
The first was "The King's Men Stone Circle" which was erected between 3000 and 2200 BCE
From here we drove to Chipping Campden, which is a market village that was first settled in the 7th Century. We went into St James Anglican Church, which was built in the 15th Century and incorporates an earlier Norman Church. It is a grade 1 listed building, and was a Wool Church
We drove through the town
and came to the Market Square which was built in 1627
Next stop was Stratford on Avon, Shakespeares birthplace.
We had been here before, but only went to Anne Hathaway's cottage and Shakespeares birthplace, but hadnt actually been into the centre of the town. We soon discovered we hadn't missed much !!
