Tuesday 21st May, 2024 - Narrow Boat.

We woke to a an overcast and quite chilly morning, and set off up the canal towards Rugby, accompanied by some of the local wild life 😀

The bridges along the canal are all numbered, and all quite old, some in better condition than others.  Thankfully, the weather improved during the morning and we actually had some blue sky.

We stopped at the Waterside Pub and Carvery for lunch and a chat to some locals

Shortly after leaving the Waterside Pub, we went through a series of 3 locks, know as the Hillmorton Locks.  John worked the locks and I drove the boat into and out of the locks.

A little further along we went through the Newbold Tunnel, which is a one way tunnel and is only 250 yards long and straight.  There is a headlight on the front of the narrow boats, so if there is nothing coming in the opposite direction, you are good to go😆

We continued on for about another 45 mins, past some lovely scenery and bridges, before mooring for the night
