London - Monday 3rd September, 2018

We decided that we would wait until after peak hour, before we left the apartment.  John did go our for a walk and discovered that we are staying 100 meters from the home and burial place of Richard Whittington, (commonly know as Dick Whittington) London's most famous Lord Mayor.

He was pleased to announce when he returned that London was back to normal !!! It is Monday morning !!!

We caught the No 15 bus again to Trafalgar Square and proceeded to the National Portrait Gallery.  We found it very interesting to look a famous people from the past, and be able to know what they look like !!! Interestingly, many of the famous masters portraits, are not in the National Portrait Gallery, as they are in the National Gallery, just down the road.

As the National Portrait Gallery is across the road from the Crypt Cafe, we went there for morning tea and a rest.

We then decided to go to the Tate Britain.  We caught the No 87 bus directly to the Tate Britain. The main reason for this visit was to see JMW Turner and Constable paintings.  The Tate does have the largest collection of Turner paintings, however the most famous of Turners are at the National Gallery. We also enjoyed the other art at the Gallery.

We caught the No 87 bus back to Covent Garden, and wandered around the Jubilee Market (mainly Trash and Treasure) and then had a late lunch at one of the cafes, before heading back to the apartment for an hour or so before heading across the road to the Sugar Loaf Pub for dinner.
