London 2nd September, 2018

We arrived in London on time, after 3 good flights.  Airport transfers were great, especially in Sydney, which couldn't have been any easier.  From the plane to a buggy, then to a 6 seater bus straight to the International Terminal. Singapore transfer was also quick and easy,
For the first time, we decided to catch the Heathrow Express Train to Paddington.  I bought the 30 day advance tickets online, which made it quite inexpensive :)  After a short walk from the Arrivals to the Train station we waited about 6 mins for the train and 15 minutes later were in Paddington.  After a coffee, we then caught a taxi to our accommodation for the next week.  Marlin Apartments, Queen St, just down the road from St Paul's Cathedral. I had arranged an early check in, but we were still an hour early, so we dropped our luggage and walked across the road for a cup of tea.

After a shower and a couple of hours relaxing, we caught the No 15 bus into Trafalgar Square.

We were surprised, as we haven't been in London on a Sunday before, as it seemed so quiet for London.  There were still plenty of people around enjoying the warm day (about 29 deg) listening to music, watching the live statues, just not as many as we expected.  We had afternoon tea at The Crypt Cafe, at St Martins in the Fields.

From here we headed back to the pub across the road from the apartment for a couple of drinks, and realised that we were running on empty !!! On further calculations we worked out it was about 39 hrs since we left home and had had only about 5 hrs broken sleep on the plane.  We left the pub, bought some supplies at the Sainsbury's nearby and went back to the apartment.  We bought a pizza from the Domino's downstairs, and were in bed by 8.30pm totally exhausted.
