London - Wednesday 5th September 2018

We had a reasonable slow morning, downloading photos and working on the blog.  We needed a little bit of an easier day after yesterday !
We ended up leaving the apartment about 11am and walked up to the bus stop near St Paul's Cathedral.  Changed buses at Aldwych and headed for Camden Town Markets.  We had been here a couple of times before, but it is definately worth another visit.  Just looking at the shops on High Street from the bus is amazing.  It's very alternate !!

after a cup of tea, we wandered around just taking it all in :) We had lunch at a Mexican Restaurant, close to the main food area, where you can get almost any type of street food.

Eventually, after some more browsing around we found the bus stop and headed back to Trafalgar Square (I think you can get anywhere from here).
From here, we caught a taxi to the London Eye

(it has taken 5 trips to get John to do it!!!) We had bought our tickets at Covent Garden earlier in the week, so we didn't have to queue for tickets.  There was only a very short wait before our capsule arrived.

You get great views of the Thames and just how large London is.

It takes 30 mins to do the revolution.

Back into a taxi and across the river back to see if we could get a table at Jamie's Italian for dinner. As it was just after 5pm, we booked a table for 6pm and went to a close by pub for a drink 🍻or 2.  After a lovely meal,
we decided that it was too far to walk to the bus stop, and decided to try using an Uber !!! We have used it in Melbourne, a couple of times, but this is the first time in London ! It took a few minutes to get it sorted, but within 10 mins our driver was there to collect us, and take us to the apartment.
After and quiet scotch, we headed to bed - exhausted again !!
