Saturday 10th September 2022 - Narrowboat

We spend this morning on the boat having a relaxing breakfast.  Before leaving we filled the water on the boat, while Andy & Daphne walked to the local church and were able to help raise the flag as Charles was proclaimed King Charles III.

We all left Selby around 1pm and again navigated all the locks together, enjoying the chit chat along the way.

As we passed under one of the bridges, there was a group of 6 boys, who all called out to say Hi and stood waving as I took their photo.

We also passed a group of Boy Scouts and their leaders on a canoe trip.

We sailed along for about 4hours, and moored at Knottingley.  Andy, Sam and John walked from the canal to the Steam Packet Inn, for a couple of pints, and then bring fish & chips back.  However, the Chippy was shut and we ended up with Chinese takeaway, which was fantastic.  We sat, talked and laughed for ages.
