Saturday 27th August, 2022 - Tamworth

This morning was very relaxed, spent in the bar area of the Tamworth Arms Hotel, where we are staying, drinking coffee and working on the blog.

We were meeting Chris, Jo and the kids at Tamworth Castle, so we decided to drive to the Castle and wait in the park.

Being a long weekend for Bank holiday, there was quite a few people there already.  There was a guy playing guitar, who was really good, so we sat and listened until Carroll family arrived.  It was most enjoyable, sitting in the sun - getting a head start on my sun tan !!!

The Castle is an intact Norman Motte and Bailey Castle built in the 11th Century, built on previous earthwork dating back to the 8th Century, and it overlooks The Rive Tame, and is Grade 1 listed.
The Castle is set up as a living dwelling from various periods of history

The Dungeon
The Day Palour

There were lots of things for the kids to do whilst touring the castle, even snakes and ladders
While we waited for the kids to finish in the Castle, we again sat in the sun and enjoyed the music.

After afternoon Tea in a cafe not far from the Castle, we made our way back to the Carroll household for a lovely dinner. Thanks Jo.
