Tuesday 13th September, 2022 Peak District Matlock -

After a reasonable nights sleep and a relaxing morning, we decided to drive to Matlock Bath.  A lovely Riverside village, with eateries, as long as you want fish & chips.  We walked around the village and then decided to have lunch - guess what we had  -  Fish and Chips !!!

There was some really pretty scenery along the way

We continued on to Matlock, a much bigger village, and got caught up in traffic, due to road works.

We had seen a sign for World Heritage Mill Site, so decided to drive back to it.  We thought it was just 1 Mill, but it is the whole area !!

John had spoken to the people in the cottage next to us earlier in the day.  It turns our that they had the exact same problems with the host, and were also not very happy.  The cottage they booked was advertised as a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, but turned out that the 2nd bathroom, was only a Loo !!
They recommended the pub down the road, The White Hart Inn, so we decided to go there for dinner.  So glad we did.
The pub was looking pretty busy, but they managed to find us a table.  Lisa, recognised our accent straight away, and really happy to chat. turns out that she had back packed around Australia, when she was 19, and absolutely loved it.  She gave us tips on what see over the couple of days, and really looked after us.  She asked if we would be back before we left, and said she would make sure to call in and say Hi, even if she wasn't working!! She had no hesitation in hugging us as we left.
By the way the meals were great and very reasonably priced.
