Tuesday 6th September, 2022 - Narrowboat

We left our mooring at the Navigation Pub this morning and topped up with water, which was close to the previous lock we had come through.  We noticed as we finished filling the water tank, that there was another boat in the lock, which would follow us to the next lock.

We then navigated the next 4 locks with Rosemary and Paul, a lovely couple from London.  During these locks, the heavens opened and we all got totally soaked.

We left them to have their lunch beside the canal just before the where the canal branches off to the Leggers Inn, where we thought we would have lunch and maybe get some wifi !!!! wrong !!!! what a dump ! nowhere to moor, and the boats around all looked to be derelict !!! After about a 6 point turn, not easy in a narrowboat, when there is no room, we headed back to chat with Rosemary and Paul, before we  headed our separate ways - us back to the Navigation Pub and them towards Sowery Bridge.

The lock on this section of the canal have been very stiff and difficult to do, and at one set of locks, it took 1/2 hour to get the lock to drain enough to be able to open the gates, even with 3 strong men.  It was a little daunting being down in the lock all that time !!!!.

Eventually, we made it back to the Pub, in time for dinner and much needed drinks!!
