Sunday 11th September, 2022 - Narrowboat

We all left Knottingley at around 10am this morning.  The canal is quite pretty in parts through here

There were people on the tow path having morning tea which was served from the Shanti Tea Boat

There were churches, and lovely houses built on the canal, along with swans swimming around, and Andy, Daphne, Sam & Sue in front of us

It was about 1pm when we all reached Castleford, and after photos and hugs and plans to do this again, we went our separate ways.

Meeting Sam, Sue, Andy & Daphne actually made the last few days of our narrowboat trip amazing.  We shared a special moment in history together, the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, and we are sure we will remain great friends for many years to come and look forward to sharing another narrowboat adventure with them.
We continued on for about another 2 hours working the locks and enjoying the scenery.

We actually passed John the Skipper's boat moored, and having a BBQ with friends as we came out of one of the locks.

He mentioned that there was no hurry to have the boat back the next morning, as it wasn't due to go out again.  This meant that we didn't have to travel as far as we thought today, so we went on for about 45 mins and then moored for the night.
